Field Equipment Mechanic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Prioritize safety at all times and strictly follow company safety policies and procedures
  • Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
  • On-Site Service: Travel to construction job sites to complete repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Diagnostics & Problem Solving: Identify mechanical issues and troubleshoot equipment failures effectively
  • Equipment & Tool Use: Safely operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with fellow mechanics and assist with complex repairs
  • Physical Requirements: Lift and handle objects weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Attendance & Reliability: Maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Overtime & Travel: Work overtime and overnight travel when required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Class A CDL with valid Medical Card (or ability to obtain)
  • 2–3 years of experience as a heavy equipment or fleet mechanic

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed outdoors at various job sites and locations
  • Frequent travel is required to job sites, service calls, and roadside repairs
  • Regular exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation
  • Potential exposure to dust, noise, and hazardous materials
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided by the company
