Fleet/Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safety First: Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety by following all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.
- Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
- Field Service Support: Travel to construction job sites and field locations to perform equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operational issues and efficiently troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Equipment & Tool Operation: Safely operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment required for repairs and maintenance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow mechanics, operators, and supervisors to complete repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Physical Requirements: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Attendance & Dependability: Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support operational needs.
- Overtime & Travel: Be available for overtime, after-hours calls, and occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Class A CDL with valid Medical Card, or the ability to obtain within an approved timeframe
- 2–3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, or fleet mechanic preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of heavy equipment systems and repair procedures
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled mechanic shop environment
- Occasional outdoor work may be required during field service calls and roadside repairs in varying weather conditions
- Regular exposure to dust, noise, grease, vibration, and hazardous materials may occur
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided by the company

Compensation
$24-$30 per hour
